Dead ends
Not every branch works out. In a linear chat a failed attempt just clutters the scroll until it’s forgotten and then repeated. Cymose lets you mark a branch a dead end and record what stopped it.
What happens when you mark one
Section titled “What happens when you mark one”Press Dead end in the chat header. Cymose distills what was tried and the specific thing that blocked it, and folds that warning into the parent — so every branch you open there afterwards inherits it, and you don’t walk back into the same wall three weeks later.
Kept separate from promoted conclusions on purpose: a failure filed as a finding is one a model will happily build on. A dead end always reads as a warning.
It’s kept, not deleted
Section titled “It’s kept, not deleted”A dead-end branch stays in the tree, struck through in the sidebar and dimmed on the map, with its reason in the tooltip. Knowing an approach failed, and why, is often worth more than the one that worked — so nothing is thrown away.
Reversible
Section titled “Reversible”A branch called dead on Friday is often the right approach on Monday. Press Revive to bring it back. The lesson already folded into the parent stays, until a later promotion supersedes it.
