Projects

There’s nothing separate to create. Every top-level chat is a project — it owns the tree that branches off it, and it can carry a standing brief that every branch under it reads on every turn.

The project brief

Set it once on the project (the icon on its row in the sidebar): the goal, the constraints, the conventions, the facts that hold for the whole thing. Every branch in that project inherits it — including branches you opened before you wrote it — and editing it updates them all at once.

Where it sits among the scopes

Cymose has three widths of standing instruction, and the brief is the middle one:

• Custom instructions — every chat you’ll ever have.
• Project brief — every branch in this one tree.
• A note — one node and everything below it.

Reach for the brief when something is true for a whole project but not for everything you do: “this is a Rust codebase”, “cite sources”, “the audience is non-technical”.
