Your first branch

1. Ask something with more than one good answer

Section titled “1. Ask something with more than one good answer”

Start a chat and ask a question where you’d genuinely want to compare approaches — “how should I structure this API?”, “three names for this feature”, “what are the trade-offs here?”.

Hover the reply and press Branch, or use Explore 3 ways to open three branches at once, each seeded with a different take. Each branch is its own thread with its own message log. They can’t see each other — that’s the point.

Follow each branch as far as it’s worth following. A branch that turns into a dead end keeps its answer and the reason it failed; nothing is deleted.

When a branch settles the question, press Promote. Its conclusion lands in the parent node, and every branch you open from there afterwards inherits it — context travels down, conclusions travel up.

That loop — branch, explore, promote — is the whole product. Everything else is in service of it.
